Planako Inc. ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Planako shift scheduling application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and web service.

Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

  • Account information: email address, password (encrypted), and user role (Employee or Employer)
  • Profile information: nickname, store name (for employers)
  • Shift data: shift schedules, preferences, availability, and assignments
  • Employment information: employer-employee relationships, roles, priorities, and hourly rates
  • Device information: push notification tokens for sending notifications

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our shift scheduling services
  • Send you notifications about shifts, schedule changes, and important updates
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
  • Protect against unauthorized access and ensure platform security

Information Sharing

We share your information only in the following circumstances: (1) With your employer or employees as necessary to provide shift scheduling services; (2) With service providers who assist us in operating our platform; (3) When required by law or to protect our rights; (4) With your consent.

Payment Information

Planako does not collect or store your full credit card number, security code, or bank credentials. Payments are processed by the payment provider appropriate to the platform you use, and that provider — not Planako — handles the sensitive payment data:

  • Web (planako.com): payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Card details are entered directly into Stripe's payment form in your browser and are never sent to Planako's servers. Stripe's handling of payment data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • iOS app: in-app subscriptions are processed by Apple via the App Store. Apple handles all payment and identity data under its own Privacy Policy. Planako does not receive your card details from Apple.
  • Android app: in-app subscriptions are processed by Google via Google Play Billing. Google handles all payment and identity data under its own Privacy Policy. Planako does not receive your card details from Google.
  • What Planako receives: only non-sensitive subscription metadata such as your subscription status (trialing, active, cancelled), the plan you are on, the renewal date, and (where the provider exposes it) the last four digits and brand of the card. We use this metadata only to grant or revoke access to paid features.
  • Subscription metadata is propagated to Planako via RevenueCat, Inc., which acts as a service provider for managing entitlements across platforms.

Chat Service

Our in-app chat feature allows users to communicate with team members. Chat messages are stored on our servers and are only accessible to the participants of each conversation. Messages are retained until your account is deleted. We do not access or monitor the content of your messages except as required by law or to investigate reported violations of our Terms of Service. Chat messages are encrypted in our database; however, they are not end-to-end encrypted. Please do not send sensitive personal information such as passwords, financial details, or government-issued identification numbers through the chat.

Clock-in Service

For users with clock-in functionality enabled by their employer, we collect clock-in and clock-out timestamps, break start and end times, and associated NFC tag identifiers when applicable. This time-tracking data is shared with your employer for attendance and payroll purposes. We do not collect location data through the clock-in service.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. All passwords are encrypted, and we use secure connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Shift history may be retained for employer records even after account deletion. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and receive a copy of your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data

Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 15 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 15.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
